Two-factor authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication (2FA), sometimes referred to as two-step verification, is a security process in which users provide two different authentication factors to verify themselves. It adds an additional layer of security to the authentication process and makes it harder for attackers to gain access to your account.

Topsheets uses Google Authenticator for 2FA. This means that in addition to your password, you’ll also need to enter a code that is generated by the Google Authenticator app on your phone or tablet.

Two-factor authentication can be easily activated as described below.

1) Install Google Authenticator

Download the app from the App Store or the Google Play Store. If you already have Google Authenticator app installed on your mobile device you may skip this step.

2) Add Topsheets to Google Authenticator

– In Topsheets go to My profile / Security.

– Click the Two-factor verification checkbox. Once you click the checkbox a Google Authenticator window will pop up.

– Open the Google Authenticator app on your mobile device.
– Tap + at the bottom right corner of your screen.
– Choose method: QR code (recommended) or manual setup code.
– Depending on your choice either scan the QR code (allow your camera access if prompted) or manually type in the setup code.
– A 6-digit one-time password code will appear in the the Google Authenticator app. Type it to the code field in the pop up window and click OK.

3) Save your settings

– After the pop up window closes the two-factor verification checkbox should appear ticked.
– Click Save.

4) Log out and log in

Next time you log in to Topsheets have your phone handy and use the one-time password code that appears in Google Authenticator to authenticate your log in.
